The world's first carbon sloop
Baltic Yachts were challenged with the design and build of the world’s first large carbon sailing sloop. At the time of launch, S/Y Pink Gin was 53.9m/176ft. It was a light fast racing yacht, so weight was an important consideration in design.
Anchoring was proving a particular challenge for the design team and so Baltic Yachts approached Manson Anchors and Bowmaster to see if the patented Bowmaster Submarine system could be the solution.
The Bowmaster design team worked closely with Baltic Yachts to customise the existing patented submarine system to best fit S/Y Pink Gin.
Bowmaster confidently designed this system using their comprehensive experience and knowledge from previous custom designs. These prior learnings saved time and gave Baltic confidence in the entire process.
The final system was a smart, simple, and a robust solution. It was delivered within budget, and on-time.
Baltic Yachts had since asked Bowmaster to design and build systems for S/Y Liara and S/Y Canova.
